Dr. Bernstein earned his medical degree from the University of Cincinnati College of Medicine and completed his residency in Internal Medicine at the Cleveland Clinic Hospital. He then received training in Allergy and Immunology at Northwestern University Medical School in Chicago, Illinois. Dr. Bernstein is board certified in Internal Medicine, Allergy-Immunology and Diagnostic Laboratory Immunology. Dr. Bernstein is a fellow of the American Academy of Allergy and Clinical Immunology. He is past Chairman of the Immunotherapy Committee and Environmental Interest Section of the American Academy of Asthma, Allergy and Immunology. Dr. Bernstein’s primary research interest has been in the field of occupational asthma. He has authored and co-authored over 100 original publications in medical journals as well as numerous reviews and book chapters. He has received federal funding to study the immunopathogenesis of diisocyanate asthma and is currently interested in genetic markers of occupational asthma. Dr. Bernstein is co-editor of the textbook, Asthma in the Workplace, which will appear in its third edition in 2005. |

Dr. David Bernstein, is a Professor of Clinical Medicine at the University of Cincinnati School of Medicine in Cincinnati, Ohio. He is also director of the Allergy Diagnostic Laboratory, Division of Immunology and Director of the University Hospital Allergy Clinic. Dr. Bernstein is co-director of the Allergy Research Laboratory and the Allergy and Immunology Fellowship Training Program.
